The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions to the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency reported it is alarmed concerning the higher number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office devoted to service the area on a regular basis. The assistance position developed for intervention encounters a high influx of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it hard to the Workplace to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more methods to empower the here servicing of all prospects and raise entry to Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
